This is our initial newsletter for 2010 and the year is starting off great!  Cape Ardor has been very busy in getting the word out about fantastic new wines coming from South Africa, we've introduced two new wine clubs and are participating in some cools events.   This brief newsletter is designed to keep you up to date.

South African Wine in New Lighter Bottles (January 29 2010)

As South Africa continues to defy the global economic downturn by increasing the export of its packaged wines each year, it is also making concerted moves to lower the weight of its wine bottles and so maintain its status as an ecologically sensitive winemaking nation.

I recently spent a week in South Africa pretending to be on holiday but I ended up doing quite a bit of wine-tasting and visiting wineries.

My dad came with me and we had a blast - there is an enthusiastic buzz around South African wine-making, some of which is down to the attention the World Cup is bringing, but my hunch is there's something richer, deeper and more significant afoot..

Perfect Pairing at BBC - A Gastronomic Affair! (February 8 2010)

 Cape Ardor paired four award winning wines with a sensational meal, provided by 2 talented Chefs from the British Bankers Club in Menlo Park on Thursday January 28. It was a wonderful evening thoroughly enjoyed by all, and left most patrons completely satiated.

Kudos to the creative chefs Tim and Paul for researching traditional South African Flavors (which included a treasure hunt for persimmons!)
