Eric Matkovich, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Cape Ardor is a native Californian who’s passion for life encompasses business, travel, culinary arts and fine wine.
Only three years into his post-college stint in the competitive Silicon Valley tech world, Eric was picked by small but rapidly growing Cisco to expand business across the globe. He traveled throughout Asia, Australia / New Zealand, South & Central America, Western Europe and South Africa.
Eric’s experience and zest for taking on a challenge has built Cape Ardor into the largest exclusive retailer of top quality wines from South Africa. His role lies in business development and strategy for the company, growing new revenue opportunities which include implementing technology solutions to scale the company efficiently and take advantage of a dynamic market.
Kara is from Durban, a beach town in South Africa. She was raised in the European tradition of enjoying wine with meals and traveled extensively following university studies in drama, film, multi-media and design. She lived in Greece for nine months before settling in San Francisco to further her studies in Design at Berkeley Extension.
A Co-Founder of Cape Ardor, her current responsibilities include new product development, social media integration, designing and implementing ad campaigns, web-design and maintenance, traditional & eMarketing activities, analytics and event operations.
|Warehouse and Logistics Manager
Glen Krusemark, born in Germany and raised in the Bay Area of San Francisco is Cape Ardor’s logistics magician. His hard work and detail orientated efforts brought him from 12 years as a District Sales Manager at Interstate Brands to the operations coordinator at Cape Ardor’s head quarters.
His proven abilities include managing the wine warehouse, inventory, shipping and receiving operations not to mention coordinating regional, national and global logistics. His friendly attitude softens the most complicated logistical affairs and his execution and motivation is superlative.
|Ecommerce Content Coordinator
With her strong organizational skills and her attention to detail, Tatiana has been a great addition to our team and without her, we could never keep up with our ever—increasing sku count. Hailing from Brazil but now fully ensconced in South African wine (and ways) her ability to maintain focus and patience under pressure has helped us in taking the company onward and up!
Tatiana publishes and manages content on our website, assists with digital marketing, supports our online product and sales strategies and coordinates with other departments to help create seamless processes between tasks.
|Account Manager / Business Development
Marthelize is responsible for the South African market’s Account Management and Business Development activities, based in the beautiful wine region of Stellenbosch.
Marthelize grew up with a firm foothold in the South African wine industry and completed an M.Sc in Wine Biotechnology from the Univeristy of Stellenbosch. After a stint in an intense start up company she has gone on to launch a highly successful wine writing platform with a friend called Incogvino.
Marthelize can be found in the wine lands driving development for our CellarDoor Direct Program with member wineries, creating customized on-boarding plans for new members, developing the tasting room staff for effective program integration, identifying key products, inventory management and executing on Cape Ardor’s corporate strategy for South Africa.
